Like most security companies, Brinks Home offers various security cameras for around the house. Brinks cameras come with standard features like HD video and night vision, but they're hardly unique. Still, the best Brinks can offer is that it doesn't require upgrading your professional monitoring plan to use cameras like Vivint, ADT, and SimpliSafe do.

There are two kinds of home security companies: those that design their equipment and those that use white-label equipment from brands like Alarm.com and Honeywell. Brinks falls into the latter category since it uses Alarm.com devices.

Brinks doesn't offer anything you won't find on other brands that sell Alarm.com gear, like Frontpoint and Link Interactive. While this means no nifty cameras like Vivint and Ring Alarm offer, Alarm.com's equipment is reliable and easy to use.

• Mobile app: The Brinks Home app gives you full control over your cameras and security system. While it's easy to use, it scores lower on Android phones than iOS, with many Android users citing bugs and slow customer service.
• HD video: The latest Brinks cameras come with at least 1080p HD video that looks great day and night. It's not as clear as you might expect from standalone wireless options like Arlo cameras or Eufy cameras but captures enough detail to keep you in the loop on what's happening around the house.
• High prices: Brinks cameras are much more expensive than Frontpoint and Link Interactive for the same cameras. (Though Link Interactive charges more for the better indoor camera.) Additionally, you'll pay some of the highest monitoring fees in the industry. Only Vivint, ADT, and Link Interactive charge more—the cheapest Brinks plan costs around $40 a month.
• DIY installation: You'll install the cameras along with the Brinks security system, which takes around an hour or so depending on the amount of equipment you buy. While it's an easy project, Brinks offers optional professional installation for folks who want some help with a new system.

• Night vision range: The Outdoor Camera has an infrared night vision range of 40 feet, double the other cameras. This makes sense because outdoor cameras need to see further to work well in your yard. It doesn't do much good if an intruder gets too close undetected.
• Weatherproofing: The Smart Video Doorbell and Outdoor Camera work best outside your house, so they come with weatherproofing. This means they can stand up to moisture better than either of Brinks' indoor cameras.
• Two-way voice: While every Brinks camera comes with two-way audio, the Indoor Camera w/ Two-Way Voice takes it a step further with a button that works like an intercom. This is similar to what you'll find on a video doorbell. It's an easy way to stay in touch with family members if you don't have a shared home phone.
• Doorbell wiring: The Smart Video Doorbell connects to existing doorbell wiring. This makes for a longer installation process compared to other Brinks cameras, which plug into an outlet. But there's a silver lining since you won't have any unsightly wires hanging around.

In many ways, Brinks home security cameras are a great choice for folks with Brinks systems or newbies that want Brinks. But you won't find affordable or innovative cameras compared to competitors like Ring, Wyze, Frontpoint, and SimpliSafe.
